Information

Burdened for New England, I started the Northeast Church Planting Conference in 2016. It’s purpose is two-fold; to assist new church plants in the Northeast and to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2026, I turned NCPC over to the leadership of Save New England. The Spring SNE Conference is Monday-Tuesday, April 23-24, 2027. SNE will continue to raise funds for church planters who are committed to start independent Baptist (KJV) churches in the Northeast. Fund raising will take place on Tuesday morning of the Conference. I’ve been invited to oversee this segment of the Conference. I am looking forward to the meeting.

2027 CONFERENCE LOCATION:

Conference Host: Granite State Baptist Church, Concord, NH | Pastor Peter Chamberland

REQUIREMENTS TO PRESENT: To present in April 2027, requirements include:

  • Church planters must be approximately 12-18 months from their official start-up date.
  • Church planters must agree with the Baptist Distinctives.
  • Church planters must have a recommendation from their sending church pastor (Acts 13:1-3; 14:26).

BAPTIST DISTINCTIVES: We strongly affirm our commitment to the following Distinctives that define independent Baptists. The Baptist Distinctives is not a comprehensive list and because it is an acrostic, the Distinctives are not in any specific or doctrinal order. I have altered the acrostic to emphasis briefly the three-fold duty of pastors.

  1. Biblical Authority: The Bible, God’s Holy Word, is the verbally inspired and infallible, authoritative Word of God; that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We further believe that God has preserved His Word in its smallest detail so that we might have His standard by which to live for His glory. (Matthew 24:35; 2Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2Peter 1:20-21)
  2. Autonomy of the Local Church: The local church should be self-governing, i.e. be independent of a hierarchical structure, or a figurehead from without, or an outside governmental organization. (Colossians 1:18; Acts 13–14, 20:19–30; Ephesians 1:22–23.)
  3. Priesthood of Believers: We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that Christ is our High Priest and through Him every born-again person has direct access into God’s presence without the need of a human priest, i.e. every believer has the right and responsibility to pray and to study the Scriptures. (1Peter 2:2, 5-10; 1Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:14-16, 6:20, 7:17-28; John 14:26, 16:13; 2Peter 1:19-21; 2Timothy 2:15).
  4. Two Church Offices and Two Church Ordinances: Scripture mentions two church offices; pastor (bishop) and deacon. These two offices are to be filled by qualified men to oversee the affairs of the local church. (Philippians 1:1; Acts 6:1–7; 1Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:6–9; 1Peter 5:1–4) Baptism and the Lord’s Table (Communion) have no part in salvation and only serve as pictures of what Christ has done for us. (Matthew 28:19; 1Corinthians 11:23–26; Acts 2:38–43, 8:36–38; Romans 6:1–6)
  5. Individual Soul Liberty: Every person has the freedom and personal responsibility before God to choose, believe, and practice their faith without coercion from the state or church (Romans 10:9–17, 14:1–23.)
  6. Saved Church Membership: Membership is not a right, it is every believer’s responsibility. The word “church” according to the Bible, refers to a gathering (assembly) of believer’s in Jesus Christ, who are in agreement, for example, to obey the Lord in believer’s baptism, who agree to worship and serve the Lord in a spirit of unanimity, to uphold the church Constitution and By-Laws, and to support it’s pastoral leadership.
  7. Three-fold Duty of Pastors: Ephesians 4:11-12 outlines the three-fold duty of pastors. “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Pastors, primarily through the pulpit ministry, equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Ministry edifies the church. The devotion of the First Century church included ministry. The primary work of the ministry is evangelism. Though the 21st century church is multi-faceted, evangelism must be the chief end of all our activity. Acts 2:47 states the chief end of ministry, “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” The Lord added daily implies that the Gospel was declared daily. Though the 1st century church, for example, was devoted to doctrine, prayer, and fellowship – the early church took ownership of the Great Commission. (Mt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
  8. Separation of church and state. God has ordained both, and has delegated authority to each; the authority of one must not interfere with the other; however, this does not mean that the State is to be non-religious nor does it mean that the church and its members must abstain from being involved in the political processes of our nation. (Matthew 16:18, 18:15-20; Romans 13:1-7; Acts 2:1-11, 41-47, Acts 5:29-31; Ephesians 2:1-6).
