About

I was 24 years of age when I trusted Christ as my Savior. It took place at the altar of the Cleveland Baptist Church in Brooklyn, OH on Palm Sunday in 1978. My Pastor, Dr. Roy Thompson, preached appropriately, on the Lord’s Triumphant Entrance. I was baptized the following Sunday, and surrendered to the call of God in October. I enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College in the Fall of 1979 and graduated in 1984 earning a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Pastoral Theology. Shortly after college graduation, I went to Greenville, OH to be the pastor of Greenville Baptist Temple (1984-1991). I returned to my home church in 1991 to serve on staff until a door opened in 1997 to serve in New England. I served as an assistant pastor and school principal at Victory Baptist Church in Londonderry, NH from 1998-2009 during which time I started and directed an evening Bible Institute. I left Victory in 2009 to be the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Groton, MA. Having served in New England for nearly 30 years, I stepped down from the pastorate on January 1, 2023, but not away from ministry. From 2023 to 2026 , I was available for pulpit supply in the Northeast. I had the joy of preaching throughout the 6 New England states and serving as an Interim pastor at Tri-State Baptist Church in Thompson, CT for 8 months (December 2023-August 2024), and at Bow Baptist Church in Weathersfield-Bow, VT for 15 months (February 2025-May 31, 2026). In 2016 I started the Northeast Church Planting Conference which was hosted annually by FBC Groton, MA for 10 years (2016-2025). NCPC is now under the leadership of Save New England Ministries. I served as Moderator for the New England Baptist Fellowship for 10 years (2015-2025). In July 2026 my wife, Laura and I moved to Knoxville, TN. We were married in June 1974. We have 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
